Workout #2

Do you prefer the 1 minute challenge or Tabata workout? Explain why. I preferred the Tabata workout because it was less time-consuming than the 1 minute challenge, as well as I was more motivated to complete the workout since it was smaller time increments.

What are your stress levels before and after physical activity? Usually before working out I have a lot on my mind because I’m thinking of all the tasks I need to complete throughout the day, therefore making my stress level higher. However, after I complete my workout my stress levels are lower because it makes me more focused.

Comment on what motivates you ( or not ) to follow the workouts? During the following weeks that I’ve been incorporating physical activity into my week I have felt my body getting stronger, which has helped motivate me. Working out also helps with my stress levels and leaves me more focuses and energized for the remainder of the day.

How many servings of fruits and vegetables should you eat each day? Are you getting enough? If not, how could you ensure that you do? An individual should have around 5-10 servings of fruits and vegetables each day. I try my best to incorporate fruits and vegetables in my meals, however I could improve on it. A way I could eat more fruit is by adding it to my breakfast, such as topping my oatmeal or cereal with bananas, strawberries, blueberries or any other fruit. As for vegetables, I could pre-cut vegetables and keep them in the refrigerator ready to have whenever I want a snack.

Identify the 6 essential nutrients. Six essential nutrients include: carbohydrates, protein, lipids (fat) , Vitamins, water, and minerals.

Identify 4 carbs that we should eat more of. Four good carbs include: vegetables, legumes, fruits, and nuts.

Identify 4 carbs that we should eat less of. Four bad carbs include: sugary drinks, pastries, French fries, and candies.

Identify 1 nutrition improvement that you should consider making for health improvement. One nutrition improvement I need to improve on is my vitamin intake. I need to consider what vitamins the food I eat has and how it will benefit my body.
